Radio Caroline

Thursday 04 March 2010 at 9:32 pm

I've hearded the story of this radio: http://www.radiocaroline.co.uk/

It's again on air: http://radiocaroline.servemp3.com/

Enjoy!

A month later.

Saturday 20 February 2010 at 8:50 pm

So many things are happened in this month.

First of all, Apple has presented the iPad.

The reactions of blogosphere and the media, initially,

was of derision and sarcasm. "Seems a giant iPhone",

"Seems a dish tray" and so on. But for me  will be a killer

device: using internet without sitting in front of a lcd is

a dream. The iPod touch screen is not made for a every day

use. Surfing lying in the sofa or in the bed ... so good!

The model for me seems to be the wifi with 32 gb. I wait the

price.

In sencond stage, I have continued playing my bass: "Brushfire Fairytales"

of J. Johnson has no secret for me :-) I enjoy it very much.

Running: a good news: 51 min for 10K, without a serious training :-)

And, at the end, the rugby 6 nations has started. Italy has made a bad match

against Ireland, but a very  satisfactory game against England in Rome. A good

work of n. 9 and 10 and of back. Great hand game!

Bass learning: staus of progress.

Sunday 24 January 2010 at 09:43 am

My bass training is always in progress. I've focused my attention

on songs of J. Johnson.

Unfortunately, I've not enough of time for studing with exercices,

so I concentrate myself on the songs. I've started (as I say) with

J. Johnoson: I like his music, the bass lines are not-so-simple

but enough accessible for a beginner.

My bass setup is made-up from a Yamaha rx170 bass, a

15 W "Rumble" Fender Amp. I connect my iPod nano on the

Fender input pin and play ... Here the list:

  1. Posters (enough well)
  2.  Drink the Water (enough well)
  3. Time like these (well)
  4. Middle Man (well, some rhythm point to aggiust)
  5. Symbol In My Driveway (well, not so simple as seems)
  6. Holes To Heaven (so so ...)
  7. Sexy Plexi (enough well)
  8. F-Stop Blues (well)
  9. Never Know (well)
  10. Inaudible Melodies (so maaaany pulloff, but enough well :-)
  11. Banana Pancakes (enoug well, but I'm not satified)
  12. Mudfootball (For Moe Lerner) (well)
  13. Flake(enough well, but I'm not satisfied)
  14. Better Together (one of the next)
  15. If I Could (one of the next)
  16. Wasting Time (enough well, but I'm not satisfied)

I focus my attention also on correct position of the hands and

the body. I play sit on my fovourite chair: I'm play better if

I'm without shoes and with t-shirt :-)

Blackberry, bass, running ... and more ...

Saturday 23 January 2010 at 7:43 pm

Are many days that I'm away from here. My new job keep me far from

my mac, but I always run, play bass and ... I have a blackberry!

I've search a solution for read my mail and more, and the cheapest

(and reasonable) seems to be use a blackberry. I've start the service

from 3 or 4 days and seems to be a good choice. I can sync it with

my google account and with my mac mini. I spent many hour to understand

the blackberry slang.

My set of J. Johnson songs are now of 14 track :-)

I've change my Nike Pegasus and buy a Nike+ sensor.

[...]

139 bpm and sun! (and shoes to change)

Sunday 10 January 2010 at 2:10 pm

Yeah :-)

139bpm mix ... and run!

Does time  are coming for change my shoes?

Maybe yes :-)

Restarting with bass.

Friday 08 January 2010 at 9:53 pm

Proposite #1: restarting and ENJOY with bass playng.

From here. Next, other J.J. songs (reprised).

===========================

http://theschooloflife.typepad.com/the_school_of_life/2009/12/how-to-live-well-in-2010.html

Some points:

  • 1. Diet, but not to lose weight. [...] Enjoying less, not more. Pleasure in small things [...]
  • 2. Work to live, don’t live to work. [...] work enough, and only enough, to support his real passion [...]
  • 3. Meet a friend face to face, when you might have chatted online. [...] Texting and websites are part of modern friendship, but alone, they are not enough. [...]
  • 4. Start each day by contemplating the worst that can happen. [...] So embrace the worst; it probably won’t happen. And enjoy the day. [...]
  • 5. Take a technology Sabbath. [...] So have one day off a week from IT. Read a book, talk to friends, go for a walk instead.[...]
  • 6. Talk to a stranger. [...]  It’s not Google. It’s the strangers with whom share our world. [...]
  • 7. Go on retreat. [...] The pace of life is slower. It creates time for reflection. It should be easy to do, but actually it’s slightly frightening, [...]
  • 8. Write a blog for one week. [...] If there’s one quality that you need not just to live, but to live well, it’s curiosity. With that, you’ll really see the world, and your life, and imagine it in a different light.[...]
  • 9. Do something that will surprise your friends, and you. [...] So try breaking one or two, he’d say. A real taste of liberty will be yours. [...]
  • 10. Decide what you want at your funeral. [...] To learn how to die, is to learn to live well. [...]

RFU push for "rolling substitutions".

Friday 25 December 2009 at 8:05 pm

Seems that the RFU [1] push for some law changes.

First of all, the rolling substitutions [2]. This seems not a good idea.

Why every year there must be a law experiment?

The game is really in a moment of decadence like

someone would belive?

Or, maybe, the SANZAR connection wants made

a Rugby league-like sport?

A Google wave account.

Thursday 17 December 2009 at 9:58 pm

I have asked to Google for a wave invite: is arrived today. I'm corious

about it. I'll explore it in the next days and bring back here my opinion.

I've so many tech things to do ...

My phlog has started.

Thursday 17 December 2009 at 9:53 pm

My new phlog (gopher blog) has started with first two posts:

you can found at gopher://sdf.lonestar.org/0/users/kickmule/phlog/

if you have a browser that support the gopher protocol.

For me is an interesting experiment, a new/old side of the net,

almost underground and not google oriented. Keep it simple.

Why I love rugby
